Technical Officer – Food Safety

We’re looking for a Temporary Technical Officer to join our clients dedicated Technical team and help uphold our exceptional food safety and quality standards. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring compliance across our supply chain, supporting audits, and collaborating with multiple departments to deliver safe, high-quality food products.
What You’ll Do:
Maintain and monitor supplier and raw material approval systems
Assist with supplier audits and manage associated documentation
Support and participate in internal audits (BRC, GMP, CCP, Hygiene)
Complete and review product specifications and quality standards
Conduct horizon scanning and monitor supply chain risks
Manage traceability schedules and prepare customer documentation
Support the Technical Manager during audits and customer visits
Work closely with teams like New Product Development and PurchasingWhat We’re Looking For:
A degree (or equivalent) in Food Science or a related field
5+ years’ experience in food manufacturing or fresh produce processing
Solid understanding of BRC, HACCP, and relevant food safety legislation
Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Excel and Word
Excellent communication and organisational abilities
Experience with technical specifications and audit supportYou will be working 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday with an immediate start.
