TeacherActive is proud to be working with a network of inclusive and community-minded primary schools across Keynsham, Longwell Green, and the surrounding BS30–BS31 areas, who are looking to welcome dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistants to their teams.

You’ll be joining schools where collaboration and compassion are at the heart of everything they do.
Your Role Will Include:
Providing 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning or behavioural needs
Helping to create a calm, positive, and engaging classroom environment
Adapting resources and strategies to meet individual learning needs
Supporting both academic progress and emotional wellbeing
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to ensure consistent support
What We’re Looking For:
Experience supporting pupils with SEND in a primary school setting
A patient, compassionate nature with strong emotional awareness
Flexibility to adapt and take initiative when needed
Confidence in behaviour management and de-escalation techniques
Enhanced Child-Only DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
Two recent references from educational settings
